Assorted Pix (Israel)

Our view much of the time!

Goats!!
Sheep are rather dumb, and go wherever they are led.  They fit well into a tour such as this, because they stay close and just follow the pack.  They also say “Baaaa!”

Goats say “Maaaa!” and are more curious, apt to think for themselves, and tend to wander off, checking things out on their own more.  We learned that we (Theresa and I, and our friends Mike and Mary Anne) are more like goats, and left our sheep herder a few times, probably to his displeasure.

Camel in Jericho

Pomegranates anyone?

Date Palm
Speed Date Palms?

Incenses of many types (including Frankincense and Myrrh)

Olive Tree

OK, so are we supposed to buy the mineral water and make our own wine?

(Look at the bottom line.)
Oh, yeah!  Travel Palestine indeed!  A dream we all have!  :-)

Probably NOT the place Joseph and Mary tried to
get into without reservations, that first Christmas.

Ironic, because it is (was) a Synagogue but has a
Jerusalem Cross on the flag!

Our Father in both Hebrew and Aramaic
(one of which is the language Jesus actually said it in the first time)

STOP!!

Well, maybe if you took off those dangerous "spikes"
there might be less "death"?

Which bus is ours???

Not sure what this is, but it looks ominous!  Some sort of gun?

UN peacekeeping vehicles are typically not good advertisements for travel destinations!

Who do you suppose he is talking to while toting a machine gun?

With a loaded clip, no less!!

Not an unfamiliar sight in the popular parts of Jerusalem.
(Sorry for the bad focus, but trying to take picture without getting caught!)

Apparently the Dutch part of Jerusalem?

Room with a view!! (of a graveyard, but still!)

"Golden" maintenance access door (on the Dome of the Rock).

McDonald's!!  Cheeseburger and Milkshake, anyone?

Not at THIS one!  (Kosher McD's have blue signs, instead of red)

I have seen MANY things in Duty Free stores in airports,
but barbecue grills??  That's a new one!
Do you carry it on, or check it?
