This morning we were still cloaked in fog, with little visibility. But, as it was a day at sea, and only cruising to Cape Dorset for tomorrow, we are going about 10-12 knots anyway. We had a lecture this morning on the political aspects of the Arctic, and learned that Russia, Canada, and Denmark/Greenland all have “claims” to the North Pole, and Russia actually sent an expedition to the ocean floor and placed a flag at the North Pole on the ocean floor. Of course, that raised a ruckus in the international community, and they backed off, saying it was merely a “we were here” flag, not a “claim”, similar to the flag the US put on the moon.
Then there was a cooking demonstration by the Chef, and she showed us how to make a green curry with chicken. Well, I’d pass on the chicken but the curry was very good!

[The chef making curry. Yes, she is extremely tall, before putting on the hat!]

[We had a dispute as to whether this is a penguin or maybe an indigenous person (given the scarf)]
After lunch, the bridge was open for visitors, so we came up to check it out. It was much as we saw back in 2008. It amazes me how large it is, and seems like a cross between an airplane flight deck and an airport control tower.
We then went to the Trivia contest (getting a measly 9 out of 20), and skipped the late afternoon lecture on Archeological Art. No offense, but…yawn!! J

That penguin is so cute!
