Day 4 - St. Thomas

St. Thomas and several cruise ships (ours in the front).
We had nothing scheduled today as we arrived in St. Thomas, of the US Virgin Islands.  We had been here before, many years ago, actually our last time on a Norwegian cruise, on the doomed SS Norway.  We slept in a bit, then had breakfast.  We tried the Huevos Rancheros, which were actually VERY good!  (Though not even a little like the TexMex version.)

Our ship with Guy Harvey artwork.
We got off the ship and walked around the little shopping area right there near the ship.  It was…underwhelming.  Oh well; we expected as much.  We did find a souvenir shop that gave away free beer, so, of course, we had some and bought a post card there.  After an hour or so, we reboarded and had lunch, and grabbed the daily trivia sheet (Disney) and found out we both know very little about Disney trivia, apparently!  (In what century is Sleeping Beauty set?  Really??)  After lunch we headed out again to go up to “Paradise Point”, a high point on the island with a beautiful view of the ports.  It was nice, but not exactly as expected.  We did find a couple of iguanas though.  Then it started raining, so we called it a day and went back to the ship.
At least they are "authentic"!!  (Which pirates minted coins, anyway?)
Wanna Iguana?
Mysterious strawberries.
Once back in our room, we found a note and chocolate covered strawberries from the Executive Sous Chef.  It took us a bit to figure out why, but we think it was related to some practically raw filet mignon we received yesterday.  But, we just pointed it out and asked for another piece better cooked.  Anyway, the strawberries are good regardless!

Not sure when we will have internet again.
