This morning Bill went out on a kayak tour, but Theresa
preferred to stay back. So she took a
more leisurely morning. After a quick
bite, I headed out to the tour. We had a
little problem with the bus…it didn’t show up.
We never quite found out why, but they brought a fleet of taxis and off
we went. At the site, we climbed into
our kayaks, and set out over the water.
We began in Kloiya Bay, but headed upstream to the rapids. A few of us paddled up closer. As soon as I started hitting rocks, I turned
around and rejoined the rest. A little ways out, we stopped to pull up a crab pot. There was only one crab in it, but she passed it around and let people hold it. Then she dropped it back into the water and we moved on. We went
around the point to a place the call “Starfish Wall”, for obvious reasons. Well, they said it was obvious, but we didn’t
see any starfish. We turned into Denise
Arm, and about 7 of us proceeded to the beach, while the other 25 or so headed
back. It was a long paddle, but it gave
us a chance to get out and enjoy the nature.
And by enjoying the nature, I mean enjoying the fact that the trees and
brush provided cover for nature’s calling!!
About halfway back, they told us there were cookies back at the start,
and it was just clear where it was. So,
I took off and won the race back. And by
race, well, I might have been the only one racing. Nevertheless, I call it a victory.

After lunch, and lounge time, and nearly losing track of
time, we ran up to the trivia challenge.
We came in second.
Theresa was
VERY excited to have contributed a key part of an answer, so we’re all
happy!
Then we walked around the upper
deck, and tried some shuffleboard.
It
was merciless and cruel the way she bashed my little pucks off the board.
She’s mean!!
For the second game, I held on and managed a win, but we left before
things got ugly!

| Shopping? |
We saw a crab boat being unloaded and watched an apparent grocery run.
For dinner, we went to the Italian restaurant. Oh, my! It was impossible to not overdo it there! They had so many good things, that when we finally got up to leave, our limbs had no energy, because our stomachs had claimed an "all hands on dock" and took all of the blood! But we had to crack up when we headed across the pool area and saw a group huddled in coats eating their ice cream out on the chilly deck! We wrapped up the night with a little cribbage and a nightcap.

Well, sorry we missed you - not that we could have connected. We left Prince Rupert yesterday morning at 8. Sounds like you had much more fun than we did. Charlie and Mary
