Day 3 -- At Sea

Lamb Chops...the perfect breakfast!

This is our only day at sea, so we made the most of it.  Sleep in until it’s almost too late for breakfast, then rush down to the restaurant before they closed!  Of course, Bill had been looking forward to the Baby Lamb Chops, so that was a requirement!  We then played a little backgammon, took care of a little business, and before we knew it, we were already at 1PM.

Hurry off to lunch, and then to the lecture at 2PM.  He was presenting the rise of Democracy from 1970 to present.  It was pretty interesting, and he thread the needle talking about politics without actually getting into any statements either way.

Just a midday walk across the boat.

At 3:30, we had a “Name that Tune” trivia.  We joined a couple we met earlier (retired from Bill’s company), and another woman joined us, for a team of five.  Bill was about useless for this one as the host played a little piano and then we were supposed to guess these songs that never get played on Bill’s radio stations!  But Theresa won the day answering at least half or more of our Team’s correct answers.  (We tied for First.)

Ready for Trivia!

By 4:30, it was time for the other trivia, and we again joined the couple, and a gentleman (the father of one of Bill’s coworker) whom we met earlier in the cruise joined us.  We struggled as a group but landed 9 of 15 to take third place.  It wasn’t pretty but it was extremely funny, and we had a hilarious time!

We went to the Italian restaurant for dinner.  It was part buffet and part served, and we ate WAY too much!  But almost all of it was SO good!  Until we got to the very end, and two Biscotti were pulled from a bag, dropped unceremoniously on a plate, and plopped on the table.  It became the butt of a few jokes.  Also, we were seated (almost apologetically) next to the server’s station.  So, yeah, we were in the low rent district, next to the bus station.

A Magician is the act of the night, so we went there.  He was good.  His act was silent, which was interesting, and a good way to finish the night.
