Belfast, Northern Ireland??

The goal was to get to dock by 7AM, before the weather reached the port.  Well, I (Bill) awoke just before 6, and peeked out the window and saw land close by and we were moving forward.  So, back to bed.  Still awake at 7, I got up and peeked again, and no shore was visible.  I looked on the map, and we were not close.  At 8, the Captain began his announcement and confirmed what we knew…the wind was too strong to safely port.  He went on a bit, and then said he’d be in the coffee shop in case anyone had questions or wanted to talk.  We can’t imagine what that was like, as I’m sure some people took it poorly.  Though disappointed at missing the stop, and a new country, we understood.  Bright side, it gave us an unexpected day at sea.

Baby Lamb Chops...a perfect breakfast!

Should we consider this breakfast sign?

At 10AM, they had a lecture on the Lewis Chessmen, a set of chess pieces from about 1150-1200 AD.  There is quite a lot of unknowns about these ivory carvings.  The lecturer talked about the significance of them, how they dated them, what the carvings meant, and so forth.  On the whole, it was interesting…to Bill, who went!  Theresa did some email.

They finally have Grolsch!!
After lunch (and Bill time at the puzzle while Theresa read) we finally got around to starting a movie, but by then we only had an hour before it was time to head to Trivia.  Our Trivia team seems to keep growing, and today we sort of had two groups of 5ish (max allowed is 6).  Though we were supposedly working together, we didn’t end of with the same answers.  “Our” team ended with 13 points (third place, so one point each), except the Cruise Director (a Chiefs fan from Kansas City) wanted to take off one point because of Bill’s Cleveland Browns shirt!

Boy do we know how to pick friends!

We had dinner in Prime 7, the Steak restaurant.  The food was good, but it took 2 hours.  At the table next to us was one of our Trivia teammate couples, David and Maggie.  We met them at the hotel in Reykjavik, and have enjoyed visited with them.  When she took a picture of him and his dessert, we photo-bombed their picture.  So, when it was time to take pictures of ours…we invited them to photo-bomb ours (and got permission to share).

Theresa went to the show (singing and dancing) and Bill went to the puzzle.  Both were happy!  Let’s see if we make our stop tomorrow.
