Someone woke early, and couldn’t get back to sleep. I won’t mention names to protect her
anonymity! But we got out 30 minutes
earlier than plan, which probably meant the lines were better (almost
non-existent). We had passes into the
lounge(s) for Cathay (as we are business class) so we picked one (they have
about 5 here!) and got some breakfast and coffee, and worked on waking up.
Our flight was nice, and pretty much non-eventful. It was the short range configuration, since
the seats were reclining, but not sleeper seats (I know…first world probs). But it was only a little over 3 hours of air
time, so it wasn’t like we were going to sleep much anyway.
In fact, we spent longer in the lounge in Narita (Tokyo)
than the flight here! The flight on Cathay
was early, and the inbound flight to Tokyo from DFW was late due to a frozen
waste tank drain line…so our flight is late. The most notable thing in the lounge in Tokyo
was the beer dispenser. They had Kirin
and Asahi on tap, and chilled glasses in the fridge. After some fumbling, I pushed the right button,
and the base lifted up, tilting the glass for a proper pour. That was neat! But the last step, it filled another inch
with foam from a second spout. Kind of a
manufactured head on my beer! But it was
nice anyway!
Our flight home on AA was pretty good. It was LONG, though. Theresa got some sleep and we watched 2-4
movies (Theresa watched 2, Bill watched 4).
When we arrived in DFW, somehow, we left the camera. To our surprise, Sunday Theresa got a phone
call from AA saying they had our camera.
(I review the pix before writing, as it serves for a visual
reminder.) So, this delayed our blog
post, and, well, a busy first week back delayed some more. Anyway, we spent a good deal of today
planning out our next BIG trip.
Hopefully it will also be fun and exciting! Tune in later!
