Someone took a cue from the locals for filtering dust!
After a short break, we headed back for our afternoon safari. Our driver was pulling in about 1:28 as we were walking to the front. He had a guide already with him (same driver, but different guide from the morning), so we climbed in the back and headed right to the park. We stopped at a little market on the way and our guide asked if we wanted to get anything. We brought water, so no thanks. Bill did sort of wonder what the prices were, but not enough to get out.

Not exactly a 7-11.
As we entered the park, we took an immediate Left and headed to a different area than the morning. The guide was FOCUSED on finding us a tiger. So, we zoomed over the landscape dodging holes and ruts, slowing only for the most necessary bumps. A group had seen a tigress, and we charged up on the scene so loudly, maybe we scared her off? Not sure, but as we arrived the people in that jeep were staring daggers at us (like we had anything to do with it?). We sat there a good long time, listening for the monkeys. When they see a tiger, they have a warning call. When they start heading down the trees…it’s time to move on since the tiger is long gone. Tigers tend to use familiar paths, making their route through the park almost (but not quite) predictable. So, most of the afternoon was spent zooming from one point to another in the “maybe path” of the tiger. (We never found her!)

A Teak Tree
We did see some birds, some new landscapes, etc. The temperature really varied from inside the forest to out on the grassy plains. In the morning it was cold, and the sunny plains were a treat. In the afternoon, the plains were hot (well, the air mild but the sun was hot) and the forests were a welcome cool. By late afternoon, 3-3:30, the forest was getting almost chilly as we whisked through, and the plains were still nice until after 4-4:30. By the time we left the park at 5, it was just cold in or out of the light.
Since there were so few guests here, they dispensed with the “high tea” but did offer to bring some to our room. Then they called to say there would be no dinner buffet (only like 9 people here), but they would bring food to our room. We just had to order it. Well, they brought WAY too much food.
