Day 6 - The Transition(s)

Bill’s conference ended today.  There were a LOT of meetings and presentations, many of which were very interesting, a few of which were…dry.  But, the networking was worth at least as much as the presentations.  Being able to meet people from around the globe with interests in different corners of this one technical “space” was great!  From microbiologists in the UK to FAA reps in India to Lab managers in Germany, the conversations in and out of meetings was stimulating!  The next couple of days will be a bit of a transition.  Tomorrow night Bill is planning to work at the airport and support the local team with 777 fueling.  Hopefully it will all work out, but right now we are still bouncing around trying to get all of the paperwork in place for a temporary badge.  We will both work in the hotel "all day" tomorrow, but no schmoozing or sitting in a giant ball room with a parade of speakers.  (It was great...but enough is enough!)

We took a little walk in the afternoon.  Theresa said “I just want some fresh air!”  Bill laughed, and said, “You mean ‘unfiltered’?”  (When we got back, a guy was starting up a blower because I guess too much dust settled and needed to be back up in the air?  We saw clouds of dust billowing across just after we got inside the hotel!)  We walked to the hotel we’re going to next.  This is a really nice place, and it was awesome being here for the conference.  But, without having the conference, it isn’t necessary.  We scouted out the path we’d have to drag our bags.  At the point where the sidewalk ended and we had to walk in the street around a blind corner to the next street with oncoming traffic…we knew bag dragging wasn’t going to work!  We haven’t decided on how the move will go, but it should be a treat!!  (Theresa is thinking of using the Uber “package delivery” which is 31 Rupees (about 40 cents).  Bill has reservations about putting two 50 lb bags on a scooter and hoping for the best.  We might splurge and go for the $2 Uber ride, or even a tuk tuk.  Pix or even video will be a must!

We closed the evening as many with dinner in the lounge, and drinks.  Well, mostly.  Theresa had a meeting call at 7PM, right in the middle of our 6-8 drink time!!

So you don’t feel too bad about my 7pm meeting, this is how I’m working 😀
