Day at Sea

Our view this morning...preeeeeeettty!!!

As it was a day at sea, and we had no places we HAD to be, we enjoyed a lazy morning—until we realized the restaurant closed in 45 minutes.  We hurried off to breakfast.  It was good.  Theresa had a “savory potato waffle” (yeah, I don’t know what that is either) and Bill had quail eggs. 

We then went to the morning trivia, and managed 14 out of 20!  (Winners had 15, so we’re improving.)  There was an announcement by the Captain, and he sounds like Dracula!  We went back to our room for Bill to finish “yesterday’s” blog while Theresa took a late morning siesta.

For lunch, we decided to try the buffet.  We THOUGHT we were arriving 30 minutes after it opened, but it might have been much closer than that, as it was a zoo in there!  Then we came back to our room to call Bill’s Mom and wish her a Happy Mother’s Day.  Theresa had texted hers (TG note - first thing in the morning), but Bill called Theresa’s mom next so he could take the moral high ground!  😊

By mid-afternoon we were ready for a nap!  Then some coffee and music and general trivia again (we’re getting better).  On the elevator up, we saw “Captain Matt” and his name tag showed him from Greece (which we would have guessed by the last name, but not by the voice).  Anyway, Capt Dracula seemed like a nice enough guy (in the daylight).  Suddenly it’s dinner time!  Tonight was “chic” night so we had to dress up in “chic” attire (business casual) (TG: for the uber engineer).

After dinner, we headed to a “game show” where the contestants (passengers) were supposed to have a conversation for 3 minutes without saying “yes” or “no”, and the crew tried to get them to say it.  Some of that was funny!  Then we went to the evening show with singing, dancing, and other stuff.  It was…for Theresa.  After the show, we headed to our room, grabbed coats and walked around the upper deck looking at the sky.  No aurora lights.  We ducked in to the lounge and Bill got his night cap, and we struck up a conversation with a nice couple from Australia for a few minutes.  As Theresa began falling asleep, it was clearly time to head to bed!
