An Unexpected Sunday

Good morning, Bangkok!
Theresa here again!  Bill should be back tomorrow.  So, Bangkok has not been what we planned or expected…but it is probably what we needed at this time.  The day started off nice and sunny!  You can see Holy Redeemer Church of Bangkok from our bedroom window.  They start masses at 6:30am, and the first English one was at 8:30am…it wouldn’t be hot by that time already, would it?  😊

We left just after 8am for the about 10 minute walk.  The 7:30am Mass was still going, so we walked around the campus a bit.  The Ladies’ Auxiliary was having a bake sale – nice to see some things are the same all around the globe!   One of the children’s groups was active in the Mass, so did the readings, and was the choir.  It was a nice Mass!

Bill said I had to say this:
Jesus Celebrating the Browns win over the Steelers

Way too much Thai Food!
After Mass, we went back to the hotel, cooled off a bit, and then went to Breakfast.  Nice Wonton soup, Mango sticky rice, and Thai Iced Tea – what more could you ask for?

The plan after Breakfast was to go to a nearby park next to us, then have a nice, late Thai lunch.  Instead, it started to rain, Theresa laid down for a nap, and Bill did some work.  We did have the late Thai lunch though!  Unfortunately, it was a long lunch, and we didn’t finish until after 4pm.

Bill finished his work, and sent it off for internal review – and Theresa did some planning for the future parts of this trip.  Then, we played a little chess (see One Night in Bangkok lyrics), and went outside for a bit of a walk and some ice cream.

Our Nightcaps

We had a bit of credit still available at the hotel, so went down to the bar for a nice night cap ("Midnight Train to Bangkok" for Theresa and Bowmore Scotch for Bill).
