Saturday and Sunday

Saturday was completely about getting up here.  We had two flights, one to LaGuardia, and the other to Halifax.  Both flights were on Canadair Regional Jets, which seems fitting as we were heading to Canada!  On the way, I noticed the seats were reminiscent of the DC3 style seats.  They sort of looked like that, and I’m pretty sure they were about as comfortable.

But, in LGA, we had just enough time for a slice of pizza.  I saw a “crab” pizza, which sounded like an interesting thing to try.  It was…well…it was about like you might be imagining.  I’ll check that off my list of things to try in life, and not look back!

Once in Halifax, we gathered everyone up, and headed off to the time share…in the dark.  Many people said Nova Scotia is BEAUTIFUL.  Well, at 11PM, it looks about the same as anywhere else.  And at 110 (kilometers per hour), it still took two hours!  We got in about 1AM I think, and found out they already deemed us “No-Shows”.

Sunday morning, we went to church, and then to breakfast at Lane’s Privateer Inn in Liverpool.  No, there was no Beatles memorabilia.   We went to a lighthouse (which was closed).  It was very nice, but very windy and pretty darn cold!  I tried to take a picture and found out the battery was dead.  So, no pix yet.  Then we went to three different museums, although one was actually five distinct museums in one, including an Outhouse Museum!  All of them were equally closed!  So that, and the driving around, took 20 minutes, more or less.

We went to the grocery store to buy food for the week.  Buying food for a week is a unique experience.  You don’t want too much, as it will be leftovers you can’t take with you.  You don’t want too little, as then you have to go back.  So, trying to predict just how much, and of what, five people want for a week was a little crazy.  But, that ended up being the biggest event of the day, by time.
Not sure what tomorrow will bring, because, as of yet, we have no internet, and the plan was to do the planning in the evening, to keep things easy.
