2020 Vacation!!!

Somewhere in the world!!

FINALLY!!!!  We never would have thought in January that our first trip (blog trip) would be in September.  (I know...super sad for us, right?)  Actually, the week before last, we visited Bill's brother in Arizona.  But, we spent more time working than visiting, so we're calling this Vacation #1.

Curiously, we booked this trip back in February.  So much has changed since then.  We had a river cruise planned in Europe for May.  Scrubbed in March.  We replaced it with a trip from Europe to Canada.  Scrubbed about June.  We replaced it with a week in Germany.  We think it's scrubbed.  We'll figure that out later this week.  OK, enough Boo Hoo-ing from us.  Also, we were so scattered, we forgot to send out any reminders to family and friends, so kind of curious if anyone finds us this week.  If you do, please leave a comment to say Hi and let us know you are out there!  :-)

Pre-trip Dinner

Of course, we can't start off vacation without a stop in to the local airport lounge.  Usually it is the AAdmiral's Club, but we used Theresa's Priority Pass and had a nice little dinner.  With drinks!

The flight was nice, but traveling with masks on is less than ideal.  But we had good seats, so can't complain.

"Home"

Our lodging for the week is a ski resort.  We don't expect to be hitting the slopes.  But we'll try to see a little bit of this corner of the world anyway.  We hope you enjoy!

Oh yeah!  Utah is one of those States that Bill counts as visited but Theresa does not.  See, we have both (independently) traveled through Salt Lake City when Theresa was on a project in Boise, ID.  But neither of us left the airport (except by plane).  Ironically, I saw more mountains and scenery from the terminal than I did driving out here in the dark.  But, I suspect we can both "check it off" now.

  1. Sigh. We're making do with day trips to state parks. We had flights to New York to visit Lourdes friends for August, but New York does not want us Texans! But that credit on United keeps calling to us, and we're looking at what states (or countries even) don't require quarantine.

    Have fun! Mary and Charlie
