Sunday in London

So today we had only two planned things on the schedule.  We went to Mass at Corpus Christi church, which was a little challenging to find (see picture…it’s there).

Then we were to meet up with a friend and former coworker of mine (Bill’s) for a drink at Covent Garden, a nice market place near a few sites.  We had some time between church and meeting up, so we had lunch, watched a couple of street performers, browsed a number of shops.  One placed was making enormous amounts of paella.

Having still more time, we took the Tube a few stops away and saw Kings Cross station.  For the Harry Potter fans, this would be the train station where they boarded the Hogwarts Express at Platform 9 ¾.  It did not look much like the movie.

We went back to meet with Oliver, and had a great time at Punch & Judy’s, a pub opened in 1787.  It was a fun visit, and great to catch up.  On the way home, we stopped off for some lamb and chicken “kabobs”.  It was really good, but the portions were huge, and now we’re stuffed!

Tomorrow, we are off to Tel Aviv!
