| Lots of white caps on the water! |
We are both “working remotely” so have 8 hours of
productivity to get in today. Our grand
plans of hitting it early were somewhat dashed when we slept hard until 8:30AM. Oh well.
Up and to breakfast and back by 10AM (which was fine since Bill had a
call from 6-7PM and Theresa had one 7:30 to 8, so we pretty much did right with
our work days).
 |
Hello there cutie!! Back off!! |
We ate the Italian cups (“creamy fettuccini” for Theresa and
“tasty Bolognese” for Bill…hers was better) and then planned our lunch break to
do something a little “fun”.
We went to
a coffee shop.
Now, Theresa rarely has
coffee, and Bill is so cheap he rarely spends “coffee shop prices”, but it was
supposed to be a unique one and we thought it would give us a few pics in an
otherwise dull work day.
So, we went to “Kattakaffihusid”,
a cat coffee house (obviously…from the name!).
The drive took us nearly to downtown, and we found a place to park, but
it was pay parking and after the 5
th time trying to get the machine
to work (once to get it to English…etc), we played the risky game.
(#freeparking?)
The place was pretty small, and they only had 6 cats.
There was ONE open table, and a
cat held the bench seat.
Theresa sidled
up and tried to be friendly, but the cat was NOT having it.
Bill tried and was better received.
So we swapped seats.

| Coffee(-ish) |
Our drinks came.
Theresa
got some sort of normal thing, and Bill tried hot chocolate with licorice (a
local thing).
The licorice was…salted.
So, Theresa tried it first and then gave me a
taste (of my own drink) of the licorice sprinkles.
My first bite was an assault on the tongue…a
blast of salt, with side notes of sweet and sour.
WAY too much for an unsuspecting victim!
It wasn’t too bad when you knew it, but that
first taste…wow!
The cat finally had
enough (attention…not licorice) and left to check out a few options.
But he(?) came back and decided Bill wasn’t
so bad.
Two tour groups meandered by and
people took pictures through the window and since there was a cat next to Bill,
they got a pic of Bill’s butt and a cat.
(Memories….)
A long ear rub later
(the cat’s ears), it was time for us to leave.

| Yes, I see it...Smithers! |
After some more work, Theresa went to the lounge do some on-line
training. She picked a NICE spot to
focus on her training!! Finally, Bill
got a break and made it down to the lounge, and we grabbed dinner. There was soup and shrimp and sandwiches…etc. Theresa asked the lady “What kind of soup is this?”
to which she was tersely answered “It’s meat soup!” Well, MEAT soup it was! Bill grabbed a ladle and you couldn’t even
get it to the bottom of the tureen, it was so full of solids! We THINK it was lamb, but aren’t positive. It was good though! After a short break, Bill headed up for his
call and then Theresa hers and we decided to head back to the lounge for cookies
and coffee before closing out the day!
