Final Days - Theresa Mini-Blog Brussels

The last 2 days went fairly quickly, with me doing some of the work our household needed on the computer (lots of plans for future trips!), going for walks, and eating Belgian Beer, Belgian Waffles, Belgian Fries...plus salad and fruit too 😊

There's a lot more people on a Saturday than during the week!
Saturday, we had a 7:55pm flight out of Brussels for London.  So, Bill and I had a lazy morning, and then went out so he could see some of the nearby attractions -- St Nicholas', the Mannequin Pis, and, of course, McDonalds, since he had never been to one in Brussels.
He got a change of clothing since I was last there!

Chimi Charlie anyone?

Very interesting altar
Marriott kindly gave us a 4pm checkout, so at that point, we called an Uber, and went to the airport.  We were still a bit early, so went to look for the chapel.  They actually had 4 different chapels.  Muslim, Protestant, Orthodox, and Roman Catholic.

As we were flying out of Brussels in business class (Bill gets upgrades when available on OneWorld carriers, and I had booked my flight with points to not have the stress), we went to the Brussels lounge, played some Euchre and had lunch.  The 40 minute flight from Brussels to London was uneventful -- except for the fact that BA served a light meal in that 40 minutes...and we were in London for an overnight.

Dinner on the 40 minute flight...

Downtown London from the plane

Our flights out of London were uneventful and relaxing. We went to the Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge (one of the reasons I don't mind flying through London) and got the Dim Sum and Dan Dan (a YUMMY peanut sauce).  We got back to DFW and the 92 degrees temperature!

Hopefully the next blogs, Bill will be back, and it will be more exciting.  End of July is our next adventure -- titled Vikings, Celtics & Ancient Gaul!
