Day 15 - Bermuda Part 2

Mike and MaryAnne had a tour early (like 9) but not us!  So, we had a nice relaxing morning.  After breakfast, Theresa did a little laundry, and we headed for the tour about 11-11:15.  Our tour was on a boat around the islands, and looking at expensive or famous houses. Here are a LOT of them!

A teeny tiny light house!  (Neither pricey nor famous, tho)

The white roof is ubiquitous in Bermuda, as the limestone paint
works well for collecting rainwater, their primary drinking water source.

The "Butterfield House".  The Butterfields started as a privateer
who turned banker and investor.  His family has money.

Ezekiah Fritz's house.  He was a privateer (essentially a pirate for the state).
After seizing goods on the high seas, he was supposed to turn it over to the 
government, and they would give him a cut.  He would stop off at his house, 
and drop off some of the booty in his water tank (the white curved structure
in the back), and then give them the balance...and take his cut of that!

Bermuda's first airport.  Used to be served by "Imperial Airways", which became "British Overseas Airway Company (BOAC), and then British Airways (BA).

This ship was broken from it's moor in a hurricane three years ago.
The owner tried to fix it, but another storm broke it loose again, and
wrecked it on these rocks.  It has been pillaged and sits there still.

All four of us got back about 1:15, so we met up at the buffet as the ship prepared to depart.  We then looked at some potential cruises (since they always have deals if you sign up while on board).  We got some prices and have some thinking to do.

At trivia, we killed it!!  We got 23 out of 24 points, but some were unhappy about the one we missed (How many Life Boats on board…8, but we had both 8 and 10 as guesses and we went with 10).  But we won, so all good.

For dinner, one of the restaurants had some Bermuda themed food, so we tried that.  It included an appetizer called “The Bermuda Triangle”, but we couldn’t tell you much about it as it disappeared shortly after it got to the table.  Theresa got something with chicken, rice, and black-eyed peas (which was OK).  Bill got a seafood chowder, which was excellent.  For dessert, everyone got the rum cake with rum raisin ice cream.  The cake was meh, but the ice cream was awesome!  By then, it was well after 8, so we went back to the room and took the rest of the night off!
