So, the last few days have been like the appetizer before
the main meal. We just boarded the
Celebrity Solstice a few minutes ago, and are not sure how much internet we
will have from here, but certainly none until we get to New Zealand in two
days.
We flew from Adelaide to Sydney this morning, and for the
first time ever, we traded MY AAdvantage Miles for the flights. Saving a few miles here and a few there,
after probably a dozen years I accrued enough for two one way domestic flights,
but in Business Class. Obviously, this
required me to point out to Theresa she was my “plus one” and such throughout
the experience! Thankfully she does not
return the petty behavior. J

Our Ship, the Celebrity Solstice

It took about an hour to get through the whole check in process,
but we finally got to our room. We were
amazed at how large it is (relatively…it’s small, but not nearly as much as
usual). We set sail at 6:30, in just 4
hours or so from now.
Also, as a point of interest, tropical cyclone
Ito is landing on the northern coast of Australia about now. In case anyone wondered or worried, it is
quite far from here. For a US reference,
if Adelaide is about “New Orleans”, and Sydney is about North or South
Carolina; the storm is hitting about Maine.
So, we do not expect any effects.
