We flew from Alice Springs to Melbourne today, arriving about 3pm. We decided to take the day off, so just went to the hotel to relax (and catch up on blogging!). Tomorrow, we're off to Tasmania. Australian phrase for the day..."No worries!" This means "Thank you."
In typical fashion, the airport is nowhere near anything ($24 each to go downtown). So, we went to the airport for dinner!! Yes, wiling the evening hours overlooking the tarmac, enjoying "Hungry Jacks" (Australian Burger King) is not Fodor's or Lonely Planet's highlights for Melbourne, but with a 10% Airline Discount, of course I'm (Bill) all over it! Actually, that wasn't our plan, but it just worked out that way. In the irony we've come to expect on this trip, we came back to our room to find Hilton had left Theresa (& guest?) a complimentary bottle of wine. Great night cap after a Whopper and Fries! ; - )
