Almost!! It's a long story, but we're finally getting ready for our trip this evening!! OK, well, it's not like we've done NOTHING for the trip until now, but we haven't been able to pack or prep until today, so we have about 6 hours to get everything ready and start heading to the airport.
So why Maldives? Well, we found a great deal on flights, so looked at places we could go that seemed amazing! As this is sort of the epitome (if not genesis) of the overwater bungalows, it seemed like a great place to try! Plus, it’s crazy far away—the farthest we’ve ever flown from home. The two big flights are a combined 9986 miles, and the last leg is about 80, so a total journey of about 10065 miles. I thought maybe it was the farthest we’d ever been from home, but not quite. At 9806 miles (as the most incredible crow in the world flies), it falls short of our Indonesian cruise which was about 9933 miles at its furthest point (Semarang).
More updates to come!
