The flight home was long, just a few minutes short of a full 16 hours. Because it started at about 1AM (in Doha), and we landed almost 10AM (in DFW), meals were sort of random. Often in a long flight you might have dinner than sleep a while, then breakfast and land. But, on this flight, Theresa took a nap almost right away, and Bill get a little "dinner" (the seafood chowder was awesome!), then took a nap. Theresa got up, and remembered she had some work to do, and we had one free hour of internet, and there was an open business class seat in the next row up, so she set up there and did a little bit of work. We watched some TV shows, a movie, had a bit to eat, then napped. Then watched another movie and napped/snacked. After several cat naps and snacks, we finally made it home! The Maldives
Overall, we enjoyed our trip, but by the end, we were happy to be done, too. The scenes were beautiful; and sitting outside with breezes and shade was typically very comfortable. But being in the sun was just plain hot!! We enjoyed the privacy, the shade, the tropical view to the beach in our beach villa. We enjoyed being able to go directly into the water from the "classic" over-water villa. It was great to have some sort of decent snorkeling merely steps (or a short walk) from our villa. The food was fantastic, but keep in mind we like to try new things. Even if we did not, there were always ample options of the more familiar.
We are really glad that we went to the Maldives -- and have a tiny orange dot in the middle of the Indian Ocean on Bill's "Been" app.
