Not our airplane, but close enough!

Coming home to Dallas!!
This was a LONG day!!!
We got up before 5 AM, and headed off the ship by 6. After getting our bags, a taxi, and making
our way to the airport, it was about 7AM.
The airport in Abu Dhabi has enough flights into the US that they “pre-clear”
Customs and Immigration before the flight (meaning we arrive in the US just
like a “domestic” flight). We finally
got through it all, and made our way to the Business Class Lounge. Apparently they have personal TVs! We grabbed a bit to eat and managed to post
our blog, and then headed off to begin our 16.5 hour sojourn.

Apparently not "Mom Approved" for TV viewing!

Hmmm...what to have for dinner!
Within maybe 20 minutes of take off, heading due North, we
passed into Iranian air space, which was sort of weird realizing that!

Flying over Iran!
On the flight, we started off with dinner. Why?
Probably because we’re used to starting off long distance international
flights with dinner. We watched a movie
over dinner, and then noticed as they turned down the cabin lights so people
could sleep…there were stars!!!! Theresa
took a nap after the movie, but probably only for 30 minutes. We watched a second movie, and about halfway
through decided since they had “potato crisps” (British for chips), that would complement
our movie nicely. Well, after another
nap, another movie, some reading, and assorted other bits and pieces, we
landed. Uneventfully. Except, well…Theresa was told THREE TIMES to
close her window shade (since it lit up the cabin). It wasn’t much more light than the reading
light which she promptly turned on after being chided, but well…let’s all give
Theresa a hard time for not following the rules!!

Star lights!! (it looked much cooler than the picture)
The End…for now!
