Theresa here!
Back in November when we did a Transatlantic cruise, we enjoyed it...but there were things we did not like about it, such as the 2+ hour dinners each night without the ability to really have a casual dinner.
When Bill retires, he would like to take a really long (60+ day) cruise...and then, once we make sure it won't make us batty, take an around the world cruise. For those longer voyages, you really need to be happy with the cruiseline experience. Meaning we need to test the different cruise experiences (it's a hard job, but someone needs to do it 😉).
Shortly after we came home, I found a good deal on a Princess cruise for one of their newest ship's in their Sanctuary collection. It just happened to be another Transatlantic cruise. So, we are testing the hypothesis!
Research Question
Is cruising on a luxury cruise line (Silversea) a better
overall experience than cruising in a luxury cabin on a premium cruise line
(Princess)?
Hypothesis (Testable)
- Null Hypothesis (Theresa): There is no significant difference in overall passenger satisfaction between cruising on a luxury cruise line (Silversea) and cruising in a luxury cabin on a premium cruise line (Princess).
- Alternative Hypothesis (Bill): Passengers cruising on the luxury cruise line Silversea report higher overall satisfaction than those cruising in a luxury cabin on the premium cruise line Princess.
Will they have good jigsaw puzzles, ability to practice with a sextant, ability to cook on a hot rock, and to play bocce ball?
ReplyDeleteUhhh. No. So far none of those things seem likely! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy neighbors (husband and wife couple) are currently in the midst of a 3-month voyage. They always cruise on Regent... and were featured in last month's AARP magazine. Sometimes they are gone as long as 5 months. They've been doing this for years (before the pandemic).
